Over the years, thanks to the SÉO, I've benefitted from many resources, knowledge and training activities. My development officer has been extremely supportive, providing me with tools, business plan support, contacts and invaluable references. I was also able to take part in several networking events. These enabled me to meet other women entrepreneurs and to get in touch with people from different cultural backgrounds to exchange ideas. This has contributed to the growth of my business. SERVICES Assistance for entrepreneurs Employment assistance for newcomers Recruitment support for employers Community building and linguistics services Community building and linguistic services Comunity building includes a variety of initiatives, services and one-off programs designed to help our local organizations, neighborhoods, towns and villages develop and grow. Support for communities and organizations One of the key starting points for strengthening a community is assessing its economic health. We offer diagnostic services for communities and their organizations to identify key factors that need to be improved. We also help communities with strategic and other planning, mobilizing partners, establishing economic projects and assisting with project planning. We provide tools and resources, and assess funding opportunities for individual projects. Send us an email Tourism Through our tourism services, we work with communities to identify potential Francophone experiences, products and services, assess their level of Francophone capacity, and then market them. Through our Route Champlain or other province-wide tours we're working on, these experiences, products or services are listed and marketed across the country and even internationally to attract Francophone markets and support our local tourism economy. Do you represent a business, organization or community that would like to add its French-language experience, product or service to our promotional efforts? Fill our form JeunInno program Error: empty slot Linguistic services (Vice Versa) As a Francophone, making yourself understood in French or obtaining services in your own language can be a challenge, depending on where you are located in Ontario. To address this challenge, in 2011, the SÉO launched Vice Versa, a social enterprise that provides translation and community interpretation services. The services offered by Vice Versa are complementary to the overall offering of the SÉO, whose mandate is to support businesses or future businesses, assist newcomers in their quest for employment and economically strengthen communities in Ontario's Francophone and bilingual space. Over the past few years, the social enterprise has put a great deal of effort into training community interpreters. This decision is all the more important as there is a crying shortage of community interpreters, which complicates the integration of French-speaking newcomers to Ontario. The SÉO and Vice Versa actively encourages the training of professionals in this field. That's why, in collaboration with MCIS Language Solutions, Vice Versa has also created a community interpreting training program within the new provincial Francophone business incubator. Visit the Vice Versa website for more details.

Each year, we offer more than a thousand workshops, webinars and other activities designed to help them perfect their knowledge and acquire background information. One of our training courses is aimed primarily at human resources professionals. It includes a series of workshops designed to raise employers' awareness of hiring and retaining candidates from diverse backgrounds. Topics covered include the integration of immigrants into their new work environment in Ontario, as well as cultural competency. Check our events calendar (In French) Networking sessions with job seekers In addition to workshops and webinars, the SÉO employability team and the ProAction program offer employers the opportunity to organize virtual, face-to-face or hybrid networking sessions for job seekers. During these dedicated meetings, you are invited to present your organization, its products and services, and the jobs you offer. OC Transpo, Canada Post, Conseil des écoles publiques de l'est de l'Ontario, Fast Forward French, Desjardins, Groupe Médias TFO, Décathlon Canada, Deloitte, Hôpital Montfort, Conseil scolaire catholique Mon Avenir, Dymon Wine Cellar... these are just a few of the companies and organizations operating in Ontario that have had the opportunity to introduce themselves to newcomers seeking employment over the past year. These events are a great way for both parties to learn more about each other. And as an employer, it's an opportunity to present yourself, your products and services, your job opportunities and the skills you're looking for. Send us an email Meeting with employers Every year, members of our employability team meet with employers across Ontario to introduce themselves, acquaint them with our services and explain what we can do as an organization to help them. Please invite us. We’ll gladly meet you wherever you may be in Ontario to introduce ourselves and explain all the benefits we offer. Occasionally, representatives from the Ministry of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada will accompany us to provide you with information about hiring foreign-trained candidates. Fill our form Job fairs and related events Like us, you probably use traditional means to advertise the jobs available in your organization. But promoting our job offers through the usual channels isn't always enough. At a time when we depend in part on economic immigration to fill the void left by, among other things, the retirement of baby boomers, we sometimes need to find other ways of publicizing the positions we're looking to fill. Fortunately, SÉO can help. Every year, the SÉO organizes or participates in various activities designed to bring job seekers and employers together. These include the RDÉE Canada network's Salon virtuel de l'emploi, the Salon virtuel du recrutement and the Foire de l'emploi francophone du Grand Sudbury. The SÉO also participates in a number of international events to meet potential candidates and present job offers from local employers. These events include Destination Canada, the Salon Afrique Canada Immigration et Investissement, and others.
